(Movie) Strange World
Strange World is a film trying so hard to be different, that it fails to be noteworthy. If I were giving out awards I would nominate Strange World for being the most painfully average movie of 2022.
I also want to note that this is a Disney animated movie and NOT a Pixar film, you can easily spot the difference. Disney animation has put out mediocre animated movies on occasion and a good example would be Raya and the Last Dragon. Last year Pixar released Luca, which is a fantastic movie and when you have a movie like Raya and the last Dragon released the same year, you can clearly tell the difference in quality of storytelling and animation between the two studios.
Strange World wanted to deliver on its name and give you a strange world, which they did, but they did not deliver on providing a good movie. The plot was sporadic at times, characters were half-baked, none of the characters were relatable which kills the movie experience. This movie suffers from having a plot that is at times incoherent and as a result causes characters to do things that do not seem to align with the character they have established. Also, the cute animal or creature that is required for animated family movies was not that good. Animation was good but nothing noteworthy.
Disney has had some hits like Encanto, but movies like Strange World remind you that they are still not Pixar. That is why this gets a
BAD MOVIE ALERT!
