(Movie) Spiderhead

I watched this from home. (of course)

    I remember seeing the trailer for this a while ago and then its all of a sudden on Netflix. I have this feeling Netflix movies are examples of straight to DVD movies from back in the day. 

       Spiderhead was... interesting. It started with a lot of promise. excellent casting with Chris Hemsworth and Miles Teller, along with an interesting story and some aesthetically pleasing visuals. It was set up for success but, the ending makes a mess of it. The entire flow of the story flips at the end and it muddles the overall message of it. I believe that flip comes from some misguided creative freedom given to the writers. 

This film was based on the short story Escape from Spiderhead from The New Yorker written by George Saunders. I suggest giving it a read as books are always better than the movie because there is no budget to your imagination.
